  • H-8 (5.0 mm) crochet hook
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors
  • Stitch markers (optional)
  • Tape measure

Instructions

  1. Make a magic ring and work 6 bobble stitches into the ring. Pull the tail to tighten, and slip stitch into the first bobble stitch to join.
  2. Round 2: Chain 2 (this counts as your first bobble), make 1 bobble in the same stitch, *2 bobbles in the next stitch, 1 bobble in the next stitch; repeat from * around and sl st into the top of the initial ch-2.
  3. Round 3: Ch 2, make 1 bobble in the first bobble, *2 bobbles in next bobble, 1 bobble in the next bobble; repeat from * around and sl st into the top of the initial ch-2.
  4. Round 4: Ch 2, make 1 bobble in the first bobble, *2 bobbles in next bobble, 1 bobble in the next bobble; repeat from * around until you have 24 bobbles.
  5. Round 5: Ch 2, make 1 bobble in the first bobble, *1 bobble in each of the next four bobbles, 1 bobble in next; repeat from * around and sl st into the top of the initial ch-2.
  6. Round 6: Ch 2, make 1 bobble in the first bobble, *1 bobble in each of the next five bobbles, 1 bobble in next; repeat from * around; sl st into the top of the initial ch-2.
  7. Round 7: Ch 1, *1 bobble in each bobble around; repeat from * around and sl st into the top of the initial ch-1.
  8. Fasten off your yarn, leaving a long enough tail to create a ghost head, approximately 6 inches (15 cm). Use the tail to embroider a face on the ghost and sew to secure coverings.
  9. Weave in the ends, making sure everything looks tidy.

Notes

Feel free to change colors or stitch patterns to customize your ghosts. Consider blocking your ghosts for better shaping if your yarn allows it.
