Description

Transform simple seashells into sparkling ocean-inspired treasures through a gentle and meditative crafting process.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Unused seashells (preferably larger ones)
  • 1 cup of water
  • 3 cups of Epsom salt
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • A small saucepan
  • A heat-safe container (e.g., glass jar)
  • A stirring spoon
  • A clean, flat surface for drying

Instructions

  1. Rinse your seashells in warm water and let them dry completely.
  2. Combine one cup of water with three cups of Epsom salt in a small saucepan.
  3. Heat the mixture on low, stirring until the salt fully dissolves.
  4. Add a few drops of food coloring to the mix, if desired.
  5. Pour the mixture into your heat-safe container.
  6. Place the cleaned shells into the solution, ensuring they are fully submerged.
  7. Set the container in a quiet space away from drafts or harsh light.
  8. Check periodically over the next few days to observe crystal formation.
  9. Once the crystals reach desired thickness, gently rinse the shells in cool water.
  10. Allow them to dry completely on a soft cloth.

Notes

Store completed shells in a dry, cool place to maintain their beauty. Optionally rotate them into different displays for seasonal changes.
