Description
Make a soft crocheted Halloween ghost garland with this calm, beginner-friendly US crochet pattern, complete with materials, stitch counts, care instructions, and gentle variations.
Ingredients
- About 360 yards of worsted weight yarn, weight 4 medium, in a smooth acrylic fiber (2 skeins total)
- A small amount of worsted weight yarn in black for the eyes and mouth
- H-8 (5.0 mm) crochet hook
- Yarn needle for weaving in the ends

Instructions
- Make a magic ring and chain 2.

- For Round 2, chain 2, then make 2 double crochet in each stitch around. Join with a slip stitch for 24 stitches.
- For Round 3, chain 2, then repeat 1 double crochet in the next stitch and 2 double crochet in the following stitch around. Join with a slip stitch for 36 stitches.
- For Round 4, chain 2, then make 1 double crochet in each stitch around. Join with a slip stitch for 36 stitches.
- For Rounds 5 through 8, repeat Round 4 four times.
- For Round 9, chain 1, make 1 single crochet in each stitch around. Join with a slip stitch for 36 stitches.
- For Round 10, skip 2 stitches, then make 5 double crochet in the next stitch, skip 2 stitches, and make 1 slip stitch in the next stitch. Repeat around for 6 scallops and 6 slip stitches.
- Fasten off, leaving a 10-inch tail, and weave in the end.
- Lightly stuff the ghost before closing completely with polyester fiberfill.
- Make the face with black yarn by stitching two small eyes and a tiny mouth.
- Repeat the instructions to make six ghosts.
- Cut six hanging loops or one longer garland cord and sew the top of each ghost securely to the cord.
Notes
