Ingredients
- About 110 yards of worsted weight yarn (weight 4, medium), in white or a soft off-white
- One H-8 (5.0 mm) crochet hook
- Polyester fiberfill, about 2 ounces (57 g)
- Two 10 mm black safety eyes (optional)
- Small amount of black embroidery floss or black worsted weight yarn for the mouth

Instructions
- Make a magic ring and crochet 6 single crochet stitches into the ring.
- Round 1: 6 sc.
- Round 2: Work 2 single crochet stitches into each stitch around (12 sc).
- Round 3: Repeat 1 single crochet in the next stitch, then an increase in the following stitch around (18 sc).
- Round 4: Repeat 1 single crochet in each of the next 2 stitches, then increase in the next stitch (24 sc).
- Round 5: Repeat 1 single crochet in each of the next 3 stitches, then increase in the next stitch (30 sc).
- Rounds 6 through 9: Work 1 single crochet in each stitch around (30 sc each round).
- Round 10: Begin the decreases, repeating 3 single crochet, then 1 decrease around (24 sc).
- Round 11: Repeat 2 single crochet, then 1 decrease around. Add stuffing (18 sc).
- Round 12: Repeat 1 single crochet, then 1 decrease around. Add more stuffing (12 sc).
- Round 13: Work 6 decreases around (6 sc).
- Cut the yarn, leaving an 8-inch (20 cm) tail. Weave through the front loops of the remaining 6 stitches to close the opening and weave in the ends.
- Place the safety eyes about 1 inch (2.5 cm) apart and add a small curved mouth with black embroidery floss.
- Shape the body by smoothing the stitches and ensuring the stuffing is evenly distributed.

This pattern is suitable for a confident beginner. If the plushie will go to a child under three, skip safety eyes and all other small parts, and embroider the entire face securely.
