Instructions

Make a slip knot and place it on your H-8 (5.0 mm) hook.
Chain 3. A chain, or ch, forms a row of linked loops.
Row 1: Chain 2 more, then work 2 half double crochet, or hdc, into the third chain from the hook. Turn.
Row 2: Chain 2, work 2 hdc in the first stitch, then 1 hdc in the next stitch, then work 2 hdc in the last stitch. Turn.
Row 3: Chain 2. Work 2 hdc in the first stitch, then 1 hdc in each of the next 2 stitches, and 2 hdc in the last stitch. Turn.
Row 4: Chain 2. Work 2 hdc in the first stitch, 1 hdc in each of the next 4 stitches, and 2 hdc in the last stitch. Turn.
Continue the same increase pattern through Row 14 by chaining 2, working 2 hdc in the first stitch, 1 hdc in each middle stitch, and 2 hdc in the last stitch.
Pause after Row 7 and look at both edges. They should angle outward evenly, with one increase at each side.
After Row 14, measure the triangle. It should be close to 8 inches wide by 6 inches deep.
Finish the final row with a slip stitch into the next stitch if you want a soft rounded edge. Fasten off, leaving a 6-inch tail for sewing.
Use a yarn needle to weave in the ends. Trim the extra yarn close to the fabric.
Block the bandana if the acrylic fabric looks uneven.

Notes

The finished bandana slips neatly beneath a collar when you fold the top edge down slightly. Tie the two upper corners behind the neck, keeping the knot comfortable and loose enough that you can slide two fingers beneath it.
