Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons food coloring (optional)
  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk or spoon
  • Heart-shaped cookie cutter

  • Airtight container

Instructions

  1. Combine the cornstarch and water in a mixing bowl.
  2. Stir the mixture gently with a whisk until smooth.
  3. Add food coloring if desired and mix well.
  4. Transfer the mixture onto a non-stick surface.
  5. Mold the mixture into a flat shape, about half an inch thick.
  6. Press the cookie cutter into the mixture to create heart shapes.
  7. Remove the shapes from the cutter and place them on parchment paper.
  8. Allow the charms to dry for 24–48 hours in a warm place.

Notes

Store finished charms in an airtight container to preserve softness. You can rejuvenate brittle charms with a damp cloth.
