A soothing DIY project to create beautiful heart-shaped charms from cornstarch and water, perfect for home decor or gifting.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons food coloring (optional)
- Mixing bowl
- Whisk or spoon
- Heart-shaped cookie cutter
- Non-stick surface or parchment paper
- Airtight container
Instructions
- Combine the cornstarch and water in a mixing bowl.
- Stir the mixture gently with a whisk until smooth.
- Add food coloring if desired and mix well.
- Transfer the mixture onto a non-stick surface.
- Mold the mixture into a flat shape, about half an inch thick.
- Press the cookie cutter into the mixture to create heart shapes.
- Remove the shapes from the cutter and place them on parchment paper.
- Allow the charms to dry for 24–48 hours in a warm place.
Notes
Store finished charms in an airtight container to preserve softness. You can rejuvenate brittle charms with a damp cloth.
