Description
A calming and mindful DIY project to create beautiful coffee filter tulips.
Ingredients
- Coffee filters (plain or bleached)
- Water-based markers or watercolor paints
- Scissors
- Floral wire or pipe cleaners
- Optional: green tissue paper or washi tape
- A small cup of water (for diluting paint)
Instructions
- Start by preparing your coffee filters. If you have more than one, layer two or three together to create fuller tulips.
- Choose your colors and begin coloring the filters with markers. Use light strokes and let your creativity flow.
- Once your filters are colored to your liking, allow them to dry completely.
- Once dry, fold each filter in half and then in half again, creating a petal shape.
- Take your floral wire or pipe cleaner and push it through the center of the folded filters. Twist it at the base to secure the petals.
- For a touch of greenery, cut triangles from green tissue paper or use washi tape to create leaves. Attach these to the stem.
- Stand back and admire your coffee filter tulips.
- If you made multiple tulips, consider arranging them in a small vase or tying them with twine for a charming bouquet.
Notes
Store tulips in a dry area away from sunlight to avoid fading. Can refresh by re-coloring or reshaping.
