Description

Transform simple coffee filters into beautiful hydrangea flowers, a calming and creative DIY project.

Ingredients

  • Coffee filters (natural or dyed)
  • Floral wire
  • Scissors
  • Acrylic paint (optional)
  • Water (for mixing paint)
  • Paintbrush
  • Green floral tape or washi tape
  • A small container for displaying the flowers

Instructions

  1. Prepare your filters: Fold several coffee filters in half, then in quarters. Repeat this multiple times to create a fan effect.
  2. Trim petal edges: Use scissors to round the edges or create a petal shape.
  3. Color your filters: Mix acrylic paint with a little water, then dip the tips of the filters in the paint or brush color on the edges. Let dry.
  4. Layer your petals: Stack 4-5 petal-shaped filters on top of each other and secure the center with floral wire.
  5. Shape the blooms: Fluff out the layers of each filter to create a blooming effect.
  6. Add the stem: Cut floral wire, wrap it around the base of the flower, and secure with tape.
  7. Display your flowers: Arrange your hydrangeas in a vase or container.
