Description
Craft beautiful and vibrant flowers using simple coffee filters, watercolor paints, and a few other materials. A wonderful DIY project that invites creativity and mindfulness.
Ingredients
- Coffee filters (standard size works best)
- Watercolor paints or food coloring
- A small paintbrush
- Scissors
- Green floral wire
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Optional: a small bowl of water
Instructions
- Begin by spreading your coffee filters out on a clean surface. Take a moment to appreciate the texture and feel of the paper.
- If you’re using watercolors or food coloring, mix your colors in a small bowl with a bit of water to achieve a lighter, softer hue.
- Dip the paintbrush into your chosen color and gently apply it to the filters, creating beautiful gradient patterns.
- Let the painted filters dry completely.
- Once dry, stack several filters together.
- Take your scissors and trim the edges of the stacked filters into a rounded shape, resembling a flower.
- Carefully pull each layer of the filter upwards, starting with the topmost one.
- Once you’ve shaped your flower, take the green floral wire and cut it to your desired length.
- Add more hot glue if needed to ensure the flower holds its shape.
- You can repeat these steps with different colors and styles, allowing each flower to reflect its unique personality.
Notes
Store flowers in a cool, dry place for longevity. Use a sturdy box lined with tissue paper for protection.
