Description
Transform ordinary coffee filters into beautiful daffodils, fostering creativity and mindfulness.
Ingredients
- Coffee filters (regular size is perfect)
- Food coloring or water-based markers (easy to find)
- Pipe cleaners (in bright colors or earthy tones, optional)
- Scissors (for gentle cutting)
- Water (to dilute the colors, if using food coloring)
- A small bowl or tray (to hold colored filters)
- Paper towels (for drying)
Instructions
- Begin by cutting the coffee filters into flower shapes. This can be freeform; let your creativity guide you as you experiment with different sizes and shapes.
- If you wish to add color, mix water with a few drops of food coloring in your bowl. Dip the edges of your cut filters into the mixture, letting the dye soak in and create soft gradients.
- Lay the colored filters flat on paper towels to dry. Take this moment to notice the colors spreading and mingling, enjoying the beauty in the unpredictability.
- Once dry, stack two or three filters on top of each other. Adjust the layers for fullness and dimension, letting your inner florist take over.
- Gently pinch the center of the stacked filters together and wrap a pipe cleaner around it. Secure the filters by twisting the pipe cleaner a few times, allowing the loops to become petals.
- If you choose not to use pipe cleaners, simply tie the filters in the middle with a bit of string or thread. Let the petals fan out naturally as you tie.
- Arrange your daffodils in a vase or display them in small clusters around your home, connecting them to your heart and space.
Notes
Store completed daffodils in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. They can last for months, bringing cheer to your space.
