Description

A serene DIY project to create beautiful coffee filter flowers using washable markers and water, fostering mindfulness and creativity.

Ingredients

  • White coffee filters
  • Washable markers in vibrant colors
  • Spray bottle filled with water
  • Scissors
  • Pipe cleaners (optional)
  • Paper towels
  • A flat surface (like a table or countertop)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Workspace: Set up a flat surface, laying down some paper towels to soak up any excess water and color.
  2. Color the Coffee Filters: Take a coffee filter and begin coloring with your markers. Use different colors for a layered effect.
  3. Spritz with Water: Hold the filter over the paper towels and spritz it lightly with water.
  4. Fold the Filter: Once colors settle, fold the coffee filter in half, then in half again.
  5. Create the Petals: Cut a rounded edge on the top of your folded filter to make the petals.
  6. Add a Stem: Use a pipe cleaner, poke it through the center of the filter, twisting it to hold the flower in place.
  7. Display Your Flowers: Arrange completed flowers in a vase or create a colorful bouquet.

Notes

Experiment with different types of markers, and consider adding glitter or sequins for extra sparkle. This project can also be done with kids.
