Description

A delightful and calming craft project to create beautiful butterflies using coffee filters and colors.

Ingredients

  • Coffee filters
  • Markers or watercolor paints
  • A small paintbrush (optional)
  • Glitter or sequins (optional)
  • Pipe cleaners or string (for antennas)
  • Scissors
  • A small cup of water (if using watercolors)

Instructions

  1. Start by taking a coffee filter and smoothing it out on a flat surface.
  2. If you wish, fold the coffee filter in half to create a semicircle.
  3. Begin adding color to one side of the filter using markers.
  4. If using watercolors, dip your brush into the small cup of water before painting.
  5. Once finished adding color, carefully unfold the filter.
  6. Fold the filter again, this time in an accordion style.
  7. Pinch the center of the folded filter to form the body and secure it.
  8. Notice the shape that forms and adjust the wings for flight.
  9. Take a moment to step back and observe your colorful creation.

Notes

Store your Coffee Filter Butterfly in a dry, cool place. You can refresh its colors by adding new shades.
