Description

Delightful and aromatic cinnamon ornaments perfect for holiday décor, easy to make and fun for the whole family.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup applesauce
  • 1/4 cup white glue (PVA glue)
  • Mixing bowl
  • Rolling pin
  • Cookie cutters (various shapes)
  • Drinking straw (for hanging holes)
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • String or ribbon (for hanging)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Workspace: Clear a clean, flat surface to work on and gather all your materials for easy access.
  2. Make the Dough: In a mixing bowl, combine ground cinnamon, applesauce, and white glue. Mix thoroughly until a dough forms.
  3. Roll Out the Dough: Lightly sprinkle cinnamon on your surface to prevent sticking. Roll out dough to about 1/4 inch thick.
  4. Cut Out Shapes: Use cookie cutters to cut your desired shapes from the dough, removing excess dough around the shapes.
  5. Create Holes for Hanging: Use a straw to poke a hole at the top of each ornament for stringing later.
  6. Bake the Ornaments: Preheat oven to 200°F (93°C), line a baking sheet with parchment, place ornaments on it, and bake for about 2 hours, turning them halfway through.
  7. Cool and Decorate: Allow ornaments to cool completely before decorating.

Notes

Enhance aroma with essential oils, decorate with acrylic paints or glitter, and use seasonal cookie cutters for varied designs.
