Description
Create a beautiful CD suncatcher using old materials, bringing light and color into your space through a mindful crafting process.
Ingredients
- Old CDs (preferably scratched or damaged)
- Clear fishing line or transparent thread
- Colorful glass beads (make sure they are smooth)
- Scissors (for cutting the fishing line)
- Hot glue gun or low-temp glue (careful with the heat)
- Optional: Paints or markers (to create designs on the CDs)
- Optional: Additional embellishments (like ribbons or charms)
Instructions
- Begin by choosing the CDs you want to use. Feel their weight and the smoothness of their surfaces.
- Rinse the CDs lightly with water or wipe them clean, if needed.
- If you wish to paint or decorate, apply your designs using paints or markers, letting the colors flow.
- Cut a length of fishing line, roughly two feet long.
- Start threading the fishing line through your glass beads.
- Tie a knot in one end of the line after a few beads.
- Position the CD in the center and tie another knot on the other side.
- To finish, you can add more beads below the CD or create a hanging loop.
- Hang your suncatcher where light will dance upon it.
Notes
Gently wipe with a soft cloth for cleaning. Swap out beads for seasonal changes.
