Easy and enchanting butterfly paper lanterns perfect for parties and home decor.
Ingredients
- Colored paper (cardstock works best)
- Scissors
- LED tea light candles
- Glue stick or tape
- String or ribbon (for hanging)
- Pencil
- Butterfly templates (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Your Butterflies: Choose your colored paper and butterfly templates. Trace the butterfly shape onto the paper and cut them out.
- Create the Lantern Base: Take a piece of colored paper (preferably A4 size). Roll the paper into a cylinder and secure with glue or tape. Ensure the top has a circular opening to let light out.
- Attach Butterflies: Use glue or tape to attach the butterflies to the lantern. Vary the positions for a whimsical, layered effect.
- Add the Light Source: Place an LED tea light candle at the bottom of the lantern. Ensure it’s secure and sits flat for safety.
- Hang and Admire: Use string or ribbon to create a loop at the top of the lantern. Hang your lantern in a desired location and enjoy the magical ambiance!
Notes
Experiment with pastel colors and different paper textures for unique designs. Use thicker cardstock for durability.
