Description

A fun and spooky DIY sensory play dough recipe perfect for Halloween or imaginative play.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup salt
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • Food coloring (black, purple, and/or orange)
  • Bat-shaped cookie cutters (optional)
  • Storage container

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix 1 cup of flour, 1/4 cup of salt, and 1 tbsp of baking powder until well combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup of water and 1 tbsp of vegetable oil. Add a few drops of food coloring.
  3. Slowly pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients while stirring. Mix until it forms a sticky dough.
  4. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 2-3 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. If using, roll out the dough and use bat-shaped cookie cutters to create shapes. Allow to air dry for a few hours for a firmer texture.

Notes

Variations include adding scents or texture tweaks with rice or oats. Store the dough in an airtight container.
