A fun and educational DIY project to create a stunning display of glowing fireworks in a jar, perfect for all ages and occasions.
Ingredients

- 1 clear glass jar with lid
- Water
- 1–2 tablespoons baking soda
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil (or baby oil)
- Food coloring (various colors)
- Measuring cups and spoons
- Small funnel (optional)
- Stirring stick or spoon
Instructions
- Fill your jar halfway with water to act as the base for your fireworks.
- In a separate bowl, mix 1-2 tablespoons of baking soda with a small amount of water to create a thick paste.
- Add a few drops of food coloring to the baking soda paste and mix well.
- Pour about 1/4 cup of vegetable oil into another container.
- Use a funnel to carefully pour the oil on top of the water in the jar.
- Drop spoonfuls of the colored baking soda paste into the oil and watch the colors burst throughout the jar.
Notes
Experiment with different color combinations and consider using glow-in-the-dark paint for nighttime displays.
