Description

Craft beautiful suncatchers that capture and refract light, bringing joy and color into your space.

Ingredients

  • Transparent plastic sheets or baking paper
  • Colored tissue paper or cellophane
  • Scissors
  • Craft glue or mod podge
  • A paintbrush
  • Cardstock or thick paper
  • String or fishing line
  • Optional: beads, sequins, or pressed flowers

Instructions

  1. Begin by selecting your transparent base. Cut it into your desired shape.
  2. Choose colorful tissue paper or cellophane, and cut it into small squares or shapes.
  3. Lay the cut tissue pieces onto your base, overlapping them like a patchwork quilt.
  4. Once you are satisfied with the arrangement, gently brush glue onto the surface of the tissue pieces.
  5. Allow your creation to dry completely.
  6. Once dry, carefully trim any excess tissue paper around the edges if needed.
  7. Attach string or fishing line to the top, making sure it is secure for hanging.
  8. Finally, hang your suncatcher in a window where light streams in.

Notes

Keep suncatchers away from direct heat to prevent fading, and dust gently with a soft cloth when cleaning. You can rearrange materials for a fresh look.
