Description

An engaging DIY adventure that brings kids and adults together to create a mesmerizing fireworks display in a bottle using simple ingredients.

Ingredients

  • Clear plastic water bottles
  • Vegetable or coconut oil
  • Water
  • Food coloring (variety of colors)
  • Alka-Seltzer tablets or baking soda
  • Small funnel (optional)
  • Glitter or confetti (optional)

Instructions

  1. Begin with clean, dry plastic water bottles and remove all labels.
  2. Using the funnel, fill each bottle with water about one-third of the way full.
  3. Pour oil into the bottle until it’s about two-thirds full, observing the separation of layers.
  4. Add several drops of food coloring on top of the oil.
  5. Break an Alka-Seltzer tablet into smaller pieces and drop one into the bottle to create the fizz effect!

Notes

Experiment with different color combinations and layers for unique effects. Consider using natural colorings for a more eco-friendly approach.
