- 2 cups watermelon puree
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Food coloring (optional)
- Ice cube trays or molds
- Mixing bowl
- Whisk or electric mixer
Instructions
- Cut a ripe watermelon into chunks and remove seeds to create a smooth puree.
- Use a blender or food processor to puree the watermelon until smooth.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the watermelon puree with granulated sugar.
- Add lemon juice, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix well using a whisk or electric mixer until the sugar dissolves.
- If desired, add a few drops of food coloring to create a more vibrant hue and stir until evenly mixed.
- Carefully pour the mixture into ice cube trays or molds, filling them about three-quarters full.
- Place the trays in the freezer and let them freeze for at least 4-6 hours, or until solid.
- Once frozen, remove the Watermelon Sugar from the molds and serve immediately for a refreshing treat!
