Description

A vibrant DIY project to make a Watermelon Slice Suncatcher that adds a splash of color to your home.


Ingredients

  • Clear plastic sheet or transparency film
  • Red, green, and yellow markers or paints
  • Scissors
  • Black construction paper or marker
  • A hole punch
  • String or fishing line for hanging
  • Optional: Glitter for added sparkle

Instructions

  1. Cut a piece of the clear plastic sheet into a large triangle to resemble a watermelon slice.
  2. Fill in the inside of the triangle with red markers or paint to mimic the watermelon flesh. Allow to dry.
  3. Draw or paint along the edges of the triangle with green to form the rind.
  4. Cut small teardrop shapes from the black construction paper or draw seeds on the red area.
  5. Glue or tape the black seeds onto the red area.
  6. Use a hole punch to create a hole at the top of the triangle and thread a string or fishing line through the hole to create a hanging loop.
  7. Hang your suncatcher in a sunny spot and admire your creation!

Notes

Experiment with colors and sizes for a unique look. Consider adding glitter for extra sparkle.
