Description

A delightful craft that adds a pop of color to your space, perfect for all ages. Transform colorful tissue paper into adorable watermelon slice suncatchers.

Ingredients

  • Green tissue paper
  • Pink tissue paper
  • Black tissue paper
  • Clear contact paper or transparency sheets
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Craft knife (optional)
  • String or fishing line
  • Optional: Watermelon slice template

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace with a flat surface and gather all materials.
  2. Trace and cut out a watermelon slice shape on the contact paper.
  3. Create the ‘flesh’ by cutting pink tissue paper into small pieces and placing them inside the watermelon shape.
  4. Add the ‘seeds’ by cutting out small ovals from black tissue paper and placing them on the pink tissue.
  5. Finish with the ‘rind’ by cutting green tissue paper into strips and placing them around the watermelon slice.
  6. Seal your suncatcher by placing another piece of contact paper over it and trimming any excess paper.
  7. Hang your suncatcher using string or fishing line in a sunny window.

Notes

Consider using different shades of tissue paper for unique looks or adding glitter for extra sparkle.
