Description

Create beautiful and personalized lanterns to add a cozy glow to your Valentine’s Day celebration.

Ingredients

  • Glass jars (cleaned and dried)
  • Battery-operated tea lights
  • Colored tissue paper (red, pink, white)
  • Mod Podge (or white glue diluted with water)
  • Paintbrush
  • Scissors
  • Heart-shaped stencil (or freehand)
  • Glitter (optional)
  • Twine or ribbon for decoration (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace by laying down some newspaper to protect the surface.
  2. Create heart shapes by tracing and cutting them out from colored tissue paper.
  3. Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge or diluted glue to the outer surface of the jar with a paintbrush.
  4. Carefully attach the tissue paper hearts onto the jar, smoothing out air bubbles.
  5. Seal the lantern by brushing another layer of Mod Podge over the surface and allowing it to dry completely.
  6. Place a battery-operated tea light inside the jar and turn it on to illuminate your creation.
  7. Decorate by wrapping twine or ribbon around the jar’s top and tying a bow.

Notes

Customize colors and shapes to make each lantern unique. Consider adding personal messages on the tissue paper.
