Instructions
- Wash and dry the apples thoroughly.
- Insert lollipop sticks into the top of each apple, pushing them two-thirds of the way in.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
- Allow the mixture to reach a soft ball stage (around 240°F or 115°C) without stirring.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Divide the candy mixture into three bowls.
- Add red food coloring to one bowl, blue to another, and leave the third bowl plain for white.
- Quickly dip each apple into the respective candy mixture, swirling to coat evenly.
- Allow excess candy to drip off before placing on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Immediately sprinkle white sprinkles on the white dipped apples for added flair.
- Let the coated apples sit until the candy hardens.
- Arrange your flag-themed candy apples on a festive platter for a beautiful presentation.
