Description

A delightful and eco-friendly craft project using recycled toilet paper rolls to create charming heart-shaped butterflies.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 empty toilet paper rolls
  • Scissors
  • Paint or colored markers
  • Glue (white school glue or a glue gun)
  • Pipe cleaners (for antennae)
  • Googly eyes (optional)
  • Decorative materials (glitter, sequins, paper, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Cut each toilet paper roll in half to create four pieces. Flatten two of the halves for the wings.
  2. Cut a heart shape from each flattened roll piece to form the top wings of your butterfly.
  3. Use colorful paints or markers to decorate your heart-shaped wings, adding patterns or embellishments.
  4. Paint the remaining halves to create the butterfly body, then attach them to the center of the heart wings using glue.
  5. Twist together two pipe cleaners and attach them to the top of the butterfly body; optionally glue on googly eyes.
  6. Allow everything to dry thoroughly and then display your charming butterfly!

Notes

You can use brightly colored paper for a quicker option or swap out pipe cleaners for ribbon. Create variations with different wing shapes or add personal messages.
