Description
A delightful and eco-friendly craft project using recycled toilet paper rolls to create charming heart-shaped butterflies.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 empty toilet paper rolls
- Scissors
- Paint or colored markers
- Glue (white school glue or a glue gun)
- Pipe cleaners (for antennae)
- Googly eyes (optional)
- Decorative materials (glitter, sequins, paper, etc.)
Instructions
- Cut each toilet paper roll in half to create four pieces. Flatten two of the halves for the wings.
- Cut a heart shape from each flattened roll piece to form the top wings of your butterfly.
- Use colorful paints or markers to decorate your heart-shaped wings, adding patterns or embellishments.
- Paint the remaining halves to create the butterfly body, then attach them to the center of the heart wings using glue.
- Twist together two pipe cleaners and attach them to the top of the butterfly body; optionally glue on googly eyes.
- Allow everything to dry thoroughly and then display your charming butterfly!
Notes
You can use brightly colored paper for a quicker option or swap out pipe cleaners for ribbon. Create variations with different wing shapes or add personal messages.
