Create your own Swirl Glowing Bounce Ball for a fun and educational craft project that combines creativity with science.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup of white school glue
- 1 cup of liquid starch
- 2 tablespoons of baking soda
- Food coloring (various colors)
- Neon or glow-in-the-dark paint (optional)
- Mixing bowl
- Spoon
- Measuring cups
- Plastic gloves (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Your Workspace: Choose a flat, clean surface to work on; covering it with newspaper can help catch spills.
- Mix the Glue and Starch: In a mixing bowl, add 1 cup of white school glue. Gradually stir in 1 cup of liquid starch until fully combined.
- Add Baking Soda: Add 2 tablespoons of baking soda to the mixture and stir well.
- Color Your Mixture: Divide the mixture into several smaller bowls for different colors. Add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl. Swirl gently to create a marbled effect.
- Form the Balls: Wear plastic gloves for easy handling (optional). Take small amounts of each colored mixture and press them together to form a ball shape.
- Let It Cure: Place your homemade ball on a flat surface to cure for about 24 hours.
- Add Glow, If Desired: Once cured, use neon or glow-in-the-dark paint to coat the ball for an additional glowing effect.
Notes
