Description

Craft vibrant ocean blue candy apples that are perfect for parties and family fun!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium-sized apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Blue food coloring (gel or liquid)
  • Lollipop sticks or wooden skewers
  • Optional toppings: edible glitter, candy seashells, edible pearls

Instructions

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the apples to remove any wax.
  2. Insert a lollipop stick into the top of each apple.
  3. In a medium saucepan, mix sugar, corn syrup, and water.
  4. Cook over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves, then stop stirring and let it boil until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
  5. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and blue food coloring until well combined.
  6. Hold the stick and dip each apple into the candy coating, swirling to cover completely.
  7. Allow excess candy to drip back into the pan before placing on parchment paper.
  8. While the coating is still warm, sprinkle with edible glitter or place candy toppings.
  9. Allow candy apples to cool until the coating hardens.
  10. Display on a decorative platter or serve individually.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to five days. Use a candy thermometer for accurate hardening.
