Description

Create a beautiful suncatcher to brighten your space with color and light. This craft is perfect for all ages and encourages creativity.

Ingredients

  • Clear plastic plates (or transparency sheets)
  • Colored tissue paper or cellophane
  • Scissors
  • Mod Podge or craft glue
  • Paintbrush (for applying glue)
  • Hole puncher
  • String or ribbon (for hanging)
  • Optional: Glitter, stickers, or other decorative items

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Base: Cut the rim off a clear plastic plate, leaving a circular shape for your suncatcher base and ensure the surface is clean.
  2. Cut the Tissue Paper: Cut or tear the colored tissue paper into various shapes—circles, stars, or abstract pieces.
  3. Assemble the Design: Spread a layer of Mod Podge on the plastic base, add tissue pieces, and press gently to secure.
  4. Seal the Suncatcher: Apply a thin layer of glue over the top to seal everything in and optionally sprinkle glitter on top.
  5. Create Hanging Space: Punch a hole at the top of the suncatcher and thread a string or ribbon through the hole for hanging.

Notes

Experiment with shapes and materials, and create themed suncatchers for holidays or seasons.
