Description

Create beautiful sun catchers that catch the light and brighten your home with vibrant colors and personal style.

Ingredients

  • Clear plastic sheets or old CDs
  • Colored tissue paper or cellophane
  • Scissors
  • Mod Podge or glue
  • Paintbrush (if using Mod Podge)
  • String or fishing line (for hanging)
  • Decorative items (optional: beads, glitter)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Workspace: Find a clean, well-lit area to work. Lay down newspaper or an old cloth to protect surfaces from glue.
  2. Create Your Design: Use scissors to cut your plastic sheet or CD into your desired shape—circles, stars, hearts, etc. Decide on a color palette with your tissue paper or cellophane.
  3. Apply Glue: If using Mod Podge, brush a thin layer onto the plastic surface. Lay down small pieces of tissue paper, overlapping them as desired.
  4. Final Touches: Apply another layer of Mod Podge on top to seal the colors and allow the sun catcher to dry completely.
  5. Add Hanging Mechanism: Once dry, punch a small hole at the top and tie a piece of string or fishing line to hang your creation in a window.

Notes

Mix materials such as beads or glitter for extra sparkle. Experiment with different shapes and designs.
