Description

A fun and eco-friendly craft to transform broken crayons into vibrant, portable crayon shapes for kids.

Ingredients

  • Broken crayons (various colors)
  • Silicone molds (fun shapes like hearts, stars, or animals)
  • Oven
  • Baking sheet
  • Aluminum foil (optional)
  • Scissors (for breaking crayon pieces)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your crayons by gathering broken pieces and removing paper wrappers with your child.
  2. Break the crayons into smaller pieces using scissors, aiming for about half an inch.
  3. Arrange the broken crayon pieces in the silicone molds, mixing and matching colors.
  4. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C) and place the molds on a baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until melted.
  5. Carefully remove the baking sheet and allow the molds to cool completely (about an hour) before gently popping out the crayon shapes.

Notes

Experiment with different mold shapes, layering colors for a marbled effect, and adding non-toxic glitter or scents.
