  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon corn syrup
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Clean glass jars or containers
  • Wooden skewers or string for hanging (optional)

  2. Heat the Mixture: Place the saucepan on the stove over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  3. Add Color: Add a few drops of food coloring if desired and stir until evenly mixed.
  4. Remove from Heat: Once dissolved, remove the saucepan from the heat and let the solution cool for about 10 minutes.
  5. Prepare Containers: Carefully pour the cooled sugar solution into clean glass jars or containers, filling them about 2/3 full.
  6. Add the Support: Insert wooden skewers or string into the solution, using clips if necessary to hold them in place.
  7. Set Aside: Cover the jars with a paper towel or cloth to keep dust out and place in an undisturbed area for several days to weeks.
  8. Watch the Magic: Observe the crystals forming over days.
  9. Harvesting Crystals: Once satisfied with crystal size, carefully remove them and allow to dry.
