Description
A fun and exciting way to enhance beverages and desserts with homemade strawberry popping boba that bursts with flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh strawberries (washed and hulled)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/3 cup sugar (adjust for sweetness)
- 2 tablespoons agar-agar powder
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil (for shaping boba)
- A syringe or small squeeze bottle
- A bowl for mixing
Instructions
- In a blender, combine the fresh strawberries, water, and sugar. Blend until smooth, creating a vibrant strawberry puree.
- Pour the strawberry puree into a saucepan over medium heat. Add agar-agar powder and stir well to combine. Bring to a gentle boil, then simmer for 5 minutes while stirring continuously.
- Remove from heat and let it cool for a couple of minutes. Fill the syringe or squeeze bottle with the strawberry mixture. In a bowl, pour the vegetable oil.
- Carefully squeeze the strawberry mixture into the oil, forming small droplets. Allow the droplets to settle in the oil for about 10-15 minutes until they turn into boba.
- Use a slotted spoon to collect the boba from the oil. Rinse gently in a bowl of water to remove the oil coating.
- Your strawberry popping boba is ready to be added to drinks or desserts! Store in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Notes
Customize flavors by substituting strawberries with other fruits. You can use honey instead of sugar for a healthier option.
