Description
Create beautiful stained glass snowflake suncatchers to brighten your home this winter. Perfect for all ages and customizable to your decor.
Ingredients
- Clear contact paper or laminating sheets
- Tissue paper (various colors)
- Scissors
- Craft knife (optional, for adult supervision)
- Glitter (optional, for added sparkle)
- A pencil
- A snowflake template or stencil (optional)
- String or fishing line (for hanging)
Instructions
- Prepare Your Workspace: Lay down a clean flat surface and gather your materials. Cut a piece of contact paper to your desired size for the suncatcher backing.
- Create Your Design: Trace your snowflake outline on the contact paper if using a template. Cut out your snowflake shape from the backing, leaving a border of around 1 inch for sticking.
- Prepare the Tissue Paper: Tear or cut the tissue paper into small squares or shapes and mix colors for a vibrant effect.
- Assemble Your Suncatcher: Peel off one side of the contact paper and lay it sticky side up. Begin placing the tissue paper pieces inside your snowflake outline.
- Seal It Up: Once satisfied with your arrangement, cover with another piece of contact paper or a laminating sheet and smooth out any bubbles.
- Cut and Hang: Cut around the outside of the shape, leaving a small border. Attach a string or fishing line to the top for easy hanging.
Notes
Consider adding glitter or beads for extra flair, and experiment with different sizes of snowflakes.
