Description

A delightful craft project that combines art and nature to create beautiful stained glass butterflies.


Ingredients

  • Colored tissue paper (variety of colors)
  • Clear plastic (such as a plastic folder or packaging)
  • Scissors
  • Craft glue or Mod Podge
  • Black construction paper (for butterfly outline)
  • Paintbrush (for glue application)
  • Pencil
  • Optional: String or wire for hanging

Instructions

  1. Prepare the butterfly outline by drawing it on black construction paper.
  2. Carefully cut out the butterfly shape with scissors.
  3. Tear or cut the colored tissue paper into small squares or shapes.
  4. Spread a layer of glue or Mod Podge over one side of the clear plastic.
  5. Press the tissue paper pieces onto the glued plastic, overlapping them slightly.
  6. Apply another layer of glue on top of the tissue paper and allow it to dry completely.
  7. Glue the stained glass section to the black construction paper outline.
  8. If desired, attach string or wire to hang the butterfly.

Notes

Experiment with color themes and different shapes for various designs. Supervise children during cutting for safety.
