A delightful craft project that combines art and nature to create beautiful stained glass butterflies.
Ingredients
- Colored tissue paper (variety of colors)
- Clear plastic (such as a plastic folder or packaging)
- Scissors
- Craft glue or Mod Podge
- Black construction paper (for butterfly outline)
- Paintbrush (for glue application)
- Pencil
- Optional: String or wire for hanging
Instructions
- Prepare the butterfly outline by drawing it on black construction paper.
- Carefully cut out the butterfly shape with scissors.
- Tear or cut the colored tissue paper into small squares or shapes.
- Spread a layer of glue or Mod Podge over one side of the clear plastic.
- Press the tissue paper pieces onto the glued plastic, overlapping them slightly.
- Apply another layer of glue on top of the tissue paper and allow it to dry completely.
- Glue the stained glass section to the black construction paper outline.
- If desired, attach string or wire to hang the butterfly.
Notes
Experiment with color themes and different shapes for various designs. Supervise children during cutting for safety.
