Description
A fun and creative sponge painted ice cream project for kids and adults, perfect for a sunny afternoon.
Ingredients
- Sponge (cut into various sizes)
- Acrylic paint in assorted colors (e.g., pastels for flavors)
- Blank white cardstock or thick paper
- Brown cardstock or construction paper (for cones)
- Scissors
- Glue
- Optional: Glitter or sequins for added decoration
Instructions
- Prepare Your Workspace: Lay down old newspapers or a plastic sheet to protect surfaces and set out all your materials for easy access.
- Create the Ice Cream Cones: Cut the brown cardstock into triangle shapes for cones and use glue to secure them to the bottom of the blank cardstock.
- Paint with Sponges: Dip your sponge into the acrylic paint and press it down onto the cardstock above the cone to create a scoop of ice cream, experimenting with colors to create swirls and textures.
- Add Decorative Touches: Once the paint dries, glue glitter or sequins to make your ice cream cones sparkle.
- Display Your Masterpieces: Allow your creations to dry completely before hanging them up or gifting them.
Notes
Use unconventional colors for a trendy twist and feel free to add toppings using small pom-poms or fabric scraps.
