Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup citric acid
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Food coloring (various colors)
  • Essential oils (optional, for scent)
  • Silicone molds or ice cube trays
  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Baking sheet (for drying)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda with 1/2 cup of citric acid. Stir to ensure a uniform mixture.
  2. Add a few drops of food coloring and essential oils if desired.
  3. Slowly add 1/2 cup of water, stirring until reaching a wet sand-like consistency.
  4. Spoon the mixture into molds or trays, pressing firmly.
  5. Place on a baking sheet and let dry for 24 hours before removing the cubes.
  6. Drop the cubes in water to enjoy the fizzing effect!
