Description

Create enchanting snowy baking soda crystal shapes for a delightful winter decoration project.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • A heat-resistant container (like a glass dish or bowl)
  • A stirring spoon
  • Cookie cutters (preferably winter-themed shapes)
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Glitter (optional for extra sparkle)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the baking soda and water. Stir until there are no lumps.
  2. Slowly add the white vinegar, observing the fizzing reaction.
  3. If desired, add a few drops of food coloring to your mixture to create colorful crystal shapes. You can also mix in a bit of glitter for extra shine.
  4. Pour the mixture into your heat-resistant container or spread it out in a flat layer. Use cookie cutters to create shapes directly in the mixture.
  5. Allow the mixture to dry completely at room temperature (24-48 hours) or in a low heat oven (around 200°F / 93°C).
  6. Once dry, carefully remove the shapes from the molds and enjoy your snowy creations as winter decorations!
