Description
A fun and educational activity that demonstrates how rain clouds form and release precipitation, engaging children in the science of density and color mixing.
Ingredients
- Shaving cream (unscented preferred)
- Clear glass or plastic cup
- Water
- Food coloring (various colors)
- Spoon or droppers (for adding color)
- Paper towels (for easy clean-up)
Instructions

- Gently spray shaving cream on top of the water to form a cloud.
- Using a spoon or dropper, add drops of food coloring on top of the shaving cream cloud.
- Observe as the colors seep through the cloud and create ‘rain’ in the water below.
- Experiment with different colors and layering for unique effects.
Notes
Use scented shaving cream only if it is safe and allergy-friendly. Supervise younger children throughout the experiment.
