Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup of baking soda
  • 1/2 cup of salt
  • 1 cup of vinegar
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Small container (like a plastic cup)
  • Tray or baking sheet (to catch the overflow)
  • Spoon for mixing

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix 1 cup of baking soda and 1/2 cup of salt until uniform.
  2. Pour the mixture into a small container on a tray or baking sheet, shaping it into a mound with a crater-like top.
  3. Add a few drops of food coloring into the center of the crater if desired.
  4. Slowly pour 1 cup of vinegar into the crater and watch the eruption occur.
  5. Enjoy the fizzy reaction that lasts several seconds.

Notes

You can experiment with different colors and sizes for unique eruptions. Essential oils can be added for scent.
