Ingredients

  • Watercolor paper (Thick, preferably 140 lb)
  • Liquid school glue
  • Epsom salt or regular table salt
  • Watercolor paints (Bright colors)
  • Paintbrushes (Various sizes)
  • Cup of water (for rinsing brushes)
  • Plastic tray or plate (for mixing salt and glue)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace by laying down newspaper or a plastic cover to protect surfaces and gather all materials.
  2. Using the liquid school glue, create starburst shapes and lines on the watercolor paper.
  3. Immediately sprinkle Epsom salt over the glued areas, covering completely.
  4. Squeeze out different watercolor paints into a separate tray and mix with a little water.
  5. Using a paintbrush, lightly touch the edge of the salt-covered areas with the watercolor paint.
  6. Allow your painting to dry completely to see the beautiful textures created by the salt.

Notes

Experiment with different colors and sizes of paper. Glow-in-the-dark salt adds a fun twist!
