Description

A fun and engaging craft project that mimics the beauty of fireworks using salt, glue, and watercolor paints. Perfect for all ages.

Ingredients

  • Black cardstock or heavy watercolor paper
  • White school glue or liquid glue
  • Table salt
  • Watercolor paints (or liquid watercolors)
  • Paintbrushes and water for rinsing
  • A small container for salt
  • Optional: Glitter for extra sparkle

Instructions

  1. Lay down newspaper to protect your surfaces from paint spills and gather all your materials.
  2. Use white glue to draw fireworks shapes on black cardstock.
  3. While the glue is wet, sprinkle salt generously over the glue designs and shake off the excess into the container.
  4. Dip a brush into the watercolors and touch it to the salt-covered glue to create vivid explosions of colors.
  5. Experiment with different colors and techniques.
  6. Set your paintings aside to dry completely.

Notes

Customize shapes and colors, and try incorporating stencils for added designs.
