Instructions
- Mix the Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour and 1 cup of salt. Gradually stir in 1 cup of water until the mixture forms a dough.
- Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough to a clean surface. Knead it for about 5-10 minutes until smooth and pliable.
- Roll Out the Dough: Use a rolling pin to flatten the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness.
- Cut Out Turkey Shapes: Use cookie cutters to create turkey shapes. You can also shape the turkeys by hand for a more unique design.
- Add Details: Use a toothpick or other sharp object to carve feathers, eyes, and a beak into the dough.
- Create Hanging Hole: Before baking, poke a small hole at the top of each turkey for hanging later.
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 250°F (120°C).
- Bake the Ornaments: Place the raw turkey shapes on a baking sheet and bake for about 2 hours or until hardened.
- Cool Down: Allow them to cool completely before decorating.
- Paint Your Turkeys: Use paints to add color and character to your ornaments. Let your imagination run wild!
- Add Finishing Touches: Once the paint is dry, add glitter, ribbon, or beads for extra flair.
- Thread a String: Finally, thread a piece of ribbon or twine through the hole and tie it securely for hanging.
