Description

Create charming salt dough stars that serve as delightful decorations or thoughtful gifts. Perfect for all ages and customizable for any occasion.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup salt
  • 1 cup water
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper (optional)
  • Rolling pin
  • Star-shaped cookie cutter
  • Acrylic paint or decorations (optional)
  • String for hanging (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of flour and 1 cup of salt. Gradually add 1 cup of water, mixing until combined. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  2. Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick. Use a star-shaped cookie cutter to cut out star shapes. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Before baking, use a straw to make holes at the top of each star for string.
  4. Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C). Bake for 2-3 hours or until the stars are hard and dry. Allow them to cool completely once done.
  5. Once cool, paint with acrylic paint or embellish them as desired.
