Description

Create delightful salt dough ornaments that are perfect for any occasion. Enjoy a fun crafting activity that develops creativity and fine motor skills.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup salt
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Optional: Paints or markers for decorating
  • Optional: String or ribbon for hanging

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Gradually stir in water and vegetable oil. Mix until a dough forms and knead until smooth (about 5 minutes).
  2. Roll the dough out on a floured surface to about ¼ inch thick. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes.
  3. Use a straw or toothpick to create a hole at the top of each ornament.
  4. Preheat your oven to 200°F (90°C). Place your ornaments on a baking sheet and bake for 1 to 2 hours or until completely dry and hard.
  5. Allow the ornaments to cool before decorating. Use paints or markers to add colors and designs.

Notes

Wrap any leftover dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to a week. Seal ornaments with varnish or clear acrylic spray for durability.
