Description

Create your own quirky and colorful monster pets using a simple salt dough recipe that engages creativity and imagination for all ages.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup salt
  • 1 cup water
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Mixing bowl
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Acrylic paint or markers (for decoration)
  • Paintbrushes

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour and 1 cup of salt.
  2. Gradually add 1 cup of water while mixing until a dough forms.
  3. For colorful dough, mix in a few drops of food coloring before it becomes too thick.
  4. Transfer the dough to a clean surface and knead it for about 5 minutes until smooth and pliable.
  5. Take a portion of the dough and shape it into your desired monster form.
  6. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C) and place your creations on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 2-3 hours until completely dry and hardened.
  8. Once cool, decorate with acrylic paints or markers and allow to dry completely.

Notes

To achieve a smoother finish, add a small amount of vegetable oil into the dough. Store leftover dough in the fridge for up to a week.
