Description
Easy and fun craft for Halloween using salt dough to create spooky ghost hands for decoration.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup salt
- 1 cup water
- Cooking spray or parchment paper
- Paint (white, black, or any colors you prefer)
- Optional: Glitter, googly eyes, or other embellishments
Instructions
- Make the Dough: In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour and 1 cup of salt. Gradually add 1 cup of water, mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Shape the Ghost Hands: Divide the dough into sections based on how many hands you want to create. Roll the dough into a cylindrical shape for each hand. Flatten the cylinder slightly to form a palm shape. Extend fingers by pinching and shaping the dough, creating ghostly fingers.
- Bake the Hands: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or spray it with cooking spray. Place your shaped ghost hands on the sheet and bake for 2 hours, or until hard.
- Paint and Decorate: Once cooled, use white paint to cover the hands for a ghostly effect. Allow the paint to dry, then use black paint to add spooky faces or features. Optional: Add glitter or googly eyes for a fun twist!
Notes
For a more textured surface, add small pieces of fabric or leaves into the dough before baking. Use food coloring mixed into the dough for colored ghost hands.
