Description

A fun and engaging DIY art project using salt, glue, and food coloring to create vibrant, fireworks-like designs.

Ingredients

  • White watercolor paper or cardboard
  • PVA glue (white school glue)
  • Table salt
  • Liquid food coloring
  • Small cups or containers for mixing colors
  • Paintbrush or dropper
  • Tray or baking sheet (to catch excess salt)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace with newspaper or a plastic tablecloth for easy cleanup and gather all materials.
  2. Use PVA glue to draw shapes, swirls, or lines on the paper and let it dry slightly for about 10-15 minutes.
  3. Sprinkle salt generously over the wet glue designs.
  4. Add a few drops of food coloring to small cups and use a paintbrush or dropper to apply colors on the salt to watch them spread.
  5. Allow your painting to dry completely, ideally overnight, for the salt to crystallize.

Notes

Experiment with different colors and textures. Customize for seasonal themes by using appropriate colors.
