- Red and green crayons (broken or whole)
- Wax paper
- Iron
- Parchment paper (optional)
- Cookie sheet
- Scissors
- Hole punch (optional)
- String or ribbon (for hanging)
Instructions
- Prepare Your Workspace: Lay out a flat, clean surface and place wax paper on it for easy cleanup.
- Grate the Crayons: Use a grater to shred red and green crayons into small pieces.
- Arrange the Crayon Shavings: Scatter the crayon shavings onto the wax paper on your cookie sheet.
- Iron the Suncatcher: Cover the crayon shavings with another piece of wax paper and gently press the iron over it for a few seconds to melt the crayons.
- Let It Cool: Allow the melted crayons to cool completely on the cookie sheet, then peel away the wax paper.
- Cut and Hang: Cut your suncatcher into desired shapes and use a hole punch to create a hole for hanging if desired. Attach a string or ribbon for display.
