Description

Create stunning red and green suncatchers that brighten up any window and cast colorful reflections in your home.

Ingredients

  • Red crayons (3-4)
  • Green crayons (3-4)
  • Clear plastic or wax paper
  • A pencil sharpener
  • An oven-safe baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Scissors
  • Hole punch (optional)
  • String or ribbon for hanging

Instructions

  1. Peel and chop the red and green crayons into small pieces using a pencil sharpener.
  2. On a piece of clear or wax paper, layer the red crayon pieces, then add the green crayon pieces.
  3. Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C) and place the layered paper on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 10-15 minutes until the crayons melt.
  4. Carefully remove from oven and let it cool for a few minutes, then refrigerate to harden fully.
  5. Once hardened, peel away the paper and cut the suncatcher into desired shapes.
  6. Use a hole punch to create a hole at the top and thread through string or ribbon for hanging.

Notes

Experiment with different colors and shapes for personalized suncatchers. Avoid non-wax crayons as they do not melt well.
