Description
Create stunning red and green suncatchers that brighten up any window and cast colorful reflections in your home.
Ingredients
- Red crayons (3-4)
- Green crayons (3-4)
- Clear plastic or wax paper
- A pencil sharpener
- An oven-safe baking sheet
- Parchment paper
- Scissors
- Hole punch (optional)
- String or ribbon for hanging
Instructions
- Peel and chop the red and green crayons into small pieces using a pencil sharpener.
- On a piece of clear or wax paper, layer the red crayon pieces, then add the green crayon pieces.
- Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C) and place the layered paper on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 10-15 minutes until the crayons melt.
- Carefully remove from oven and let it cool for a few minutes, then refrigerate to harden fully.
- Once hardened, peel away the paper and cut the suncatcher into desired shapes.
- Use a hole punch to create a hole at the top and thread through string or ribbon for hanging.
Notes
Experiment with different colors and shapes for personalized suncatchers. Avoid non-wax crayons as they do not melt well.
