Description

Transform simple eggshells into dazzling red crystal geodes with this fun and educational craft project.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Eggshells (cleaned and dried)
  • 1 cup Epsom salt
  • 1 cup water
  • Red food coloring
  • Small heatproof dish or bowl
  • Spoon
  • Decorative items (glitter, paint, etc. for customization)

Instructions

  1. Carefully crack raw eggs and separate the shells, rinsing them out thoroughly. Ensure the shells are completely dry.
  2. In your heatproof dish, combine 1 cup of Epsom salt with 1 cup of water. Stir until dissolved, then add a few drops of red food coloring and mix well.
  3. Pour the solution into the prepared eggshells, filling them about halfway, and place in a cool, dry place undisturbed.
  4. Allow the solution to sit for 24-48 hours for crystals to form.
  5. Once formed, gently remove the shells and decorate the outer edges as desired.

Notes

Experiment with different food coloring for multicolored geodes or add decorative textures with glitter and stones.
